A fair amount of films have tried to capture the essence of Berlin’s anything-goes party culture. Most have failed, and not least ‘cos of the city’s prevalent no-cameras-allowed policy. That’s until two plucky filmmakers managed to crack open the toughest of nuts: Berghain. It’s an after-hour like you’ve never seen. Steffen Köhn and Phillip Kaminiak released wild animals to explore the confines of the empty former power station; their natural inquisitiveness throwing the brutal architecture into some seriously stark relief. This upside-down short film premieres tonight from 7pm, as part of the Kultur: Stadt exhibition. After Hours | Kultur: Stadt | Akademie der Künste, Hanseatenweg | 15 March - 26 May

EDEC 008 - Soundcloud Previews:

https://soundcloud.com/edec/sets/edec-008

EDEC is proud to announce the release of VE001, the label’s first VA to date. This time around, EDEC invites a few new names to the table, Lilith and Latecomer Productions, while bringing back some familiar members of the EDEC family, like Vid and M-A-E.

From the tough darkness of Lilith “Mercurius Retrograde,” to the rolling groove of Vid “Terminal,” the powerful hypnotism of M-A-E 3344, and the deep pulse of Latecomer Prod. “Lefter’, our mission stays the same:

Deliver original underground house and techno without compromise.

Homemade Music / Protest Songs

Focusing ideas for a better world. Because freedom is not an illusion or an option.

A song that has a purpose. A song that doesn’t confine itself to commenting on or bemoaning the ills of the world, but seeks in some small way to change things. It may do this by calling directly for something to happen.

The songs should provoke the listener : shock us, unsettle us, amaze us, inspire us, make us angry, make us sad or make us optimistic.

Be warned

These homemade songs/tapes were made at Sutja’s home (in two days approx).

There’s a lot of anger and a lot of emotion in these songs.
